Wow.... talk about Update!

Well, I was looking for pictures of our family, because we bought this great big map of the US and so I am putting people on the places they live.... anyways, I noticed that we had not updated for FOUR MONTHS! ha ha. Well. I guess it will take a few posts, but here goes nothing!

Four months ago was.... March... roughly.

So... we didn't do too much.. Tevin was in the newspaper at his preschool because they were advertising for a carnival they were having.

April, was Zoya and My birthday. As you can see, she had a lot of fun! She got the My Little Pony movie, a baby, a crib, a giant Pinkie Pie stuffed animal (My Little Pony) and more!
She's so happy to have babies to put to sleep!

She did such a good job at blowing out the candles too! In case you are wondering, here is a picture of the cake. It's a pony with oreo fangs - for mommy's obsession with vampirism.

So, then in May, there wasn't much either for us. While Austin was gone visiting in Idaho, we went to a parade! May 15th. What's it like in your town in May? Here's a short video to show OUR town in May.

Yeah, we love it! lol We have dreams of Hawaii. Anyways, Now... in June, we got to go fishing up at a member's house. We had so much fun! The greatest thing was, that Tevin was catching huge fish and Austin was catcing the smallest fish ever! They had to have been two times smaller than Tevin's, Here are some fun pics to see.
Tevin was not happy holding his fish because it "wiggled." Zoya just thought it was cool... as long as she didn't have to touch it.
Daddy and is BIG catch. But, I do have to say, after about five fish, he did reel in a good one.

Here he is with his trophy...
As you can see, he loves it : )

Well, oter than that, Austin has been working and we have been doing our thing. I have been doing a low carb diet now for two months and I have lost 26 lbs. YEAH!!! Here's a pic of me and the kids messing around today, and hopefully we will update more often!

Obsession? Most Definitely!!

Ok, so I am now thoroughly in love with the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer. I read all four of them again this last weekend! Ah.... Edward. lol Don't get me wrong, I love my husband too : ) He laughs at me and thinks I am such a freak... but the movie hasn't come out - and he hasn't seen anything yet!

I included Bella's Lullaby from the movie soundtrack on our mood music list so click and enjoy! *Sigh* I hope I get to buy the books soon. I almost can't handle not having them to read again! lol Maybe soon... better go work on buttering up Austin. HA HA HA!

Thinking Hard

Well, recently I have been doing the whole food storage thing, as you can tell from the previous post and my mind has turned to having a will and life insurance. Big things in my mind. These are things I never really thought about so Austin and I talked about it and maybe we will put some of our ideas into action. I don't know. It's so weird sometimes to think, "why didn't I ask my mom about this years ago?" duh.

Anyways, well.. I have been looking at baby clothes at Shopko. I tell Austin if I can't have another baby right now then I can at least do as much as I can for Torish and Lena and Wendy and Dathan and Brenik and Sara-Lynn. Wow. Lots of babies! And I am patiently waiting for Torish and Lena to call us and tell us what they are having so I can purchase all the right things! : ) lol I love shopping for babies!!

Austin has been working a lot lately too. He worked Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. is that crazy or what? Sometimes I just want to shake his bosses because they care nothing about who Austin is or what he has to go through. They do nothing but criticise him and get mad when something is wrong. AGH! Oh well. Austin is so good at letting everything just roll off his back. He says it's because he's one of the babies in is family. Sometimes I wish I were that way. But, alas, I was born the oldest and I just can't let some things go. Austin will have to carry me to the Celestial Kingdom.

The kids are doing good. Tevin is still loving preschool, but now we are dealing with whining! I can not stand it! I make him go to his room because if he didn't, I wouldn't have a son. He's really not that bad. Tonight was rough, so my vision is currently tainted. He's a very good boy. Zoya is good too, although she mimicks her brother A LOT! Mostly the things I don't want her to. lol She loves animals and names them and says their noises every chance she can. I do love my children and I still want more. I must be crazy.

Sometimes I think just how wonderful my role is. My friend from high school just had her first baby and I posted a comment on her Facebook and I said, "How does it feel to fulfill your divine destiny?" and it was a good reminder to me to love my children, because that is my role here on earth. I forget sometimes. The Lord does such a great job at reminding me. I don't like being chastened, but in the scriptures it says whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth. He must love me a lot some times. lol I hope that my children know, if nothing else, that Heavenly Father loves them and that nothing will make them happier than doing the Lord's will. There's a lot of false happiness and shallow happiness, but the Lord wants us to find JOY. I feel joy is much fuller than happiness and brings such a celestial feeling with it.

I gave a talk a couple weeks ago on eternal progression and it was awesome! I love telling people about the gospel. Trying to get them excited! To tell them that Heavenly Father once lived on an earth like ours, and that he succeeded in attaining celestial glory. Becoming like HIS father. How amazing! My whole heart just bursts with joy as I think about it. I love the times I feel like this. It reminds me of being in the temple. I guess that is good, when you can recreate the same spirit within your own world. Ah...I love the times when I feel like I could really enjoy reading the scriptures right now. I could use more times like this in my life.

Check This Out!!!!

I am totally into Food Storage right now. I usually have cycles where I go through crafting, then scrapbooking, then family history, then back to food storage - and that is where I am now! YEAH! I want to share with you all this great site!

http://blog.totallyready.com

She has a seven steps program that helps you plan 72-hour kits for home, work and the car! She helps you prepare your house for insurance, for a pandemic, and for any emergency! She also has a system to help you gain a three-month supply of food for your family! How awesome is that!? So today I am going out to buy containers for our 72-hour kits and such so I am happy.

Tevin is back in school and I am so glad. He loves it there and really enjoys it. Zoya is doing well. She is starting to assert herself more and mommy has to clamp down more. Poor Zoya!

Austin is working LOTS this week and is really excited about school starting Monday. We had to go and buy new gloves and goggles and such for him to go to his skiing class. He is so happy and so am I. It had been rough on him last semester and it's nice to see him excited about school again.

Destroyed Bumper - but good Christmas

(Austin Ranting!!)

So here I am driving down US HWY 2 minding my own business. I was making sure to go the speed limit, not to drive to close to the person in front of me and just stay alert. I see the car in front of me stop to turn so I slow down and stop. Well the van behind me didn't want to stop and decides to try to pass me on the right shoulder. Good idea right?! Wrong! Because this van decided that he was not going to stop the vehicle behind him didn't realize he needed to slow down. The road was extremely slippery. So you guessed it; this car hit us in the rear. My bumper was demolished.

Luckily no one was hurt.

(Trisha)

So we did have a good Christmas! Besides the bumper - which Austin replaced with one he got from the junkyard - it was a great trip! We got a new van! YEAH!! Tevin received THE light saber he has wanted now for months. Zoya got baby stuff and mommy got her own set of scriptures plus a cool photo keychain! Daddy got his own "ergonomic" keyboard, cool wrenches and more seasons of Hogan's Heroes. My parents bought us "Outdoor Adventure" for our Wii! It is so cool! It lets you play all sorts of games and you use a mat and the wii remote. It's a great workout! All in all, I thought it was awesome! Now, we get back to life up here in da U.P. and all is well.

Same old, same old!

Well, there is nothing new here in Houghton, MI. We have been watching as the temperature stays low and the snow falls often, but that's what it is like up here. Tevin is back at school after his two week break. He is very happy to be back and as new things to tell us every day.

Zoya, is doing good. She loves to do puzzles and has in fact mastered them! We have some peg puzzles tat she can do like a pro! She is in love with animals and babies. If we have them, we are a hit with her.

Austin is plugging along at school. He has two more weeks left in this semester. I can hardly wait till he is done!!! YEAH! I know he is excited too!

I am doing the mommy, wife, sister, daughter, Primary president thing. Normal. I finished painting the set for our Nativity program for our Christmas party - which was moved to this Saturday because of a blizzard warning. Lovely. Our lives are going great. Yeah! Hopefully we will have something exciting to post soon!!!

Fun in Marquette!!!

Well, our weekend was awesome. We ended up going to Marquette - which is two hours SE. We went to the children's museum there and it was awesome!!! The kids ran all over and Tevin even got to hold a snake! Austin took me to Fashion bug and bought me a bunch of new clothes, and I was so happy! I even tried them on again once we got home. He's so wonderful. Also, I put up pictures of the kids playing in the snow! Yeah!!!

Snow is falling all around!

Well, it finally snowed a big snow. We have really been lucky... at least I think so. It's already four or five inches out there and it's got more to go. Tomorrow I am hoping to take the kids out to play in it, and maybe take a few pictures!!! Yeah!!

Tevin is out of school for two weeks and I have to keep explaining to him WHY! lol It's not that big of a deal, I just don't want him to feel like I am punishing him by making him stay home. Today we learned how to make a paper chain and Tevin was so excited when we hung it up over out window!

Zoya is doing well. She learned how to turn the light switch on and off so she has been up on a chair every spare moment. We painted today and she LOVES it! We use those bingo marker paints. The dot-a-dots. After they were done, Tevin and Zoya both helped me put them up all around our front door. It's just so colorful in our house! lol

I will be cleaning up and doing a video walkthrough of our house so everyone can pretend like they're with us! Yeah.

Austin has been super busy. He's preparing for the Thanksgiving break next week so of course that means a TON of things to turn in, tests to take, and so forth. Tonight he is down working on a computer program, but should be home before dawn. Poor guy. Hopefully he can catch a break. Next semester he is really excited because he got signed up for skiing - as a class! Can you believe that? He is so happy, and that makes me happy. The guy needs so much physical activity it's ridiculous! lol

Other than that, we are very quiet here. Life is good - normal. We have truly been blessed.

Tag!?

I was reading Nikki's blog when I noticed I was tagged! lol

So, I have to name everyone in my family and then name five good things about them... including myself.

Ok.....

Zoya

1. Very loving - she loves to give hugs and kisses and loves for you to give her loves!
2. Very happy - most of the time - we are blessed to have an optimist.
3. Nurturing - She loves her babies and we can already tell she'll be a good mommy!
4. Great Dancer! She loves to boogie to a good song. Our current favorite is the Popcorn Popping song from the Singles Ward Soundtrack.
5. Sense of Humor - I think both our kids have this. She loves to laugh and have a good time. This will keep her sane in this world. : )

Tevin

1. He is Energetic. He runs up and down and all around and loves to play outside. He's so excited to move his body.
2. He's a geek like his daddy. He loves Star Wars and video games and light sabers and computers. He's a mini daddy.
3. He's forgiving. He easily forgives when his feelings are hurt.
4. He knows what he wants. Of course this is not always a positive trait : )
5. He loves to Learn. He loves preschool and loves to do projects. I hope it continues.

Austin

1. He's creative. He can come up with interesting solutions to the problems we face.
2. He's persistent. He never stops until he solves a problem.
3. He's incredibly forgiving. He loves me and forgives me when I am hormonal and upset and complaining.
4. He's willing to help. He's always trying to pitch in to help me out.
5. He's got a good funny bone. He knows what to do to make me feel better and laugh.

Me - Trisha - Unfortunately I have to include myself.

1. Over-achiever. I enjoy going above and beyond the normal expectations.
2. Loving... I think.. I put my family first.
3. Have the spirit of Elijah! I love Genealogy!
4. Fun. I love to play games and have fun with my family.
5. Homey. I love being home more than other places : )

I think I did this right. So, I will tag...I don't know who even reads our blog... only a few people. lol So I'll have to let it go for now. : )

Austin has been busy doing school. We see him less and less but I know that Heavenly Father is blessing us big time, because I have gotten more patience than ever! This too shall pass.

Tevin is doing great in school. He loves it!! He's so excited to go all of the time.

Zoya is doing well, although the terrible twos have already kind of started. She is a lot more emotional than she used to be, but I guess that's just a girl thing.

Other than that... we are just doing out thing. We say that it is supposed to snow soon. Next week in fact. Hopefully, it decides not to. : )
